Description

Nestled within the legendary Wuyi Mountains—renowned as the "Kingdom of Tea Varieties" with its 36 majestic peaks, 72 winding caves, and 99 distinctive rock formations—Wuyi Rock Tea draws its unique character from this mineral-rich terroir. Beyond the famous Da Hong Pao, Rou Gui, and Shui Xian, Wuyi is home to many exquisite "small-variety" rock teas.

Huang Guanyin is one such treasure. Bred by the Tea Research Institute of Fujian Academy of Agricultural Sciences (using Huang Dan黄旦 as the male parent and Tie Guanyin铁观音 as the female parent), it was officially certified as a superior clonal tea variety in April 2002. Celebrated for its intensely penetrating and recognizable floral aroma, Huang Guanyin is often used in traditional blending to elevate and enhance the fragrance profile of premium rock tea blends.

Crafted using time-honored Wuyi Rock Tea methods, our Huang Guanyin黄观音 is distinguished by its high, expressive floral aroma—complex and enduring.

The tea soup is clear, vibrant, and sweetly fluid. The floral scent is carried beautifully in the liquor. It possesses the distinctive "rock essence" of Wuyi teas—present but not overpowering—blending the mellow smoothness of Tie Guanyin with the structured backbone of a classic Rock Tea. The taste is multi-layered, with a long-lasting, sweet aftertaste.
