This is definitely one of the few kinds of tea I bought from Zheng Shan Tang that are not up to the standard. Overly baked, lost the fragrance and tastes burned.

This is one of the best Da Hong Pao you can find for this price. Shipping was fast and the package was well-protected, however upon opening it there was a dent on my tea tin. It was only cosmetic, though, and did not affect its potential to be stored effectively.
As soon as the water hits the leaves, a vivid aroma of apricot and peach waft up and linger for minutes after. The taste mirrors the aroma, with some cinnamon and mineral notes rounding out the stone fruit.
I was able to get 3 good steeps out of this using “grandpa style” brewing. The flavor and aroma both remained strong through each steep, before sharply falling off on a 4th steep.
All in all, an excellent buy on sale for only $10, and would likely be worth the $20 normal price as well.

Great introduction to Da Hong Pao
This tea is a fantastic value, making it a good intro rock tea for those less familiar before committing to more expensive yan cha. It’s offers a whirl of fragrances with pleasantly sweet, fruity, almost peachy notes and minerality characteristic of classic DHP.

The taste, colour and quality of the brewed tea was expected from this price range.
Da Hong Pao tea had a vast range, depending on the altitude as well as the season, followed by the method of preparation. However, for this price range 4 stars rating was my conclusion.
