Nine Lions Over Dragon White Marble Vat
Ancient Paper Mulberry Tree

This is a precious stone carving artwork of the Republican-era. Crafted entirely from white marble, it stands approximately 90 cm tall. The vat is carved with nine auspicious lions in different postures, and the base is decorated with sea-wave and cloud-dragon motifs, forming the unique "Nine Lions Over the Dragon" design with political and cultural connotations of the era. Exquisitely carved, it boasts high ornamental and cultural value.

According to local lore, it was brought to Beijing from Indonesia during Zheng He's maritime expeditions over 500 years ago. Only two paper mulberry trees of this kind survive in Beijing: one male and one female. This is the male tree. Its bark, fruits, leaves and sap can be used in herbal medicine, and its fruits can also be steamed and enjoyed as food. The tree is officially registered with the city's landscape authority.
White-Marble Stone Table

A square flat stone table from the Republican-era. The tabletop is engraved with traditional longevity motifs, and its outer edge is relief-carved with vivid, delicate Chinese zodiac figures. Guests may sit here to relax and admire the courtyard scenery.
